A man has been injured after the roof of a garage collapsed in Burntwood.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Bridge Cross Road, Chase Terrace, Burntwood at around 11.40am this morning (January 23).
An ambulance, a senior paramedic officer, a BASICS emergency doctor, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Staffordshire and paramedics from the Trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said:
“Crews arrived to find a man, believed to be in his 40s, trapped underneath the collapsed roof of a garage. “Ambulance crews worked with the fire service at the scene to help extricate the man from beneath the roof, using specialist equipment, whilst he continued to receive treatment for his injuries to his pelvis.
“The man was immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board before being transferred by ambulance on blue lights to University Hospital North Staffordshire.”
