One tradition of the Lichfield Bower went ahead despite the event being cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The traditional Bank Holiday procession was axed along with other activities lined to the annual event.
But members of the Three Spires Morris were determined that the show would go on.
The group’s members used video conferencing software to host a virtual procession.
A spokesperson said:
“There is evidence of Morris dancers leading the bower as far back as the 1070s.
“Photographs also exist from the 1930s and it has been continuously done since the 1950s.
“We are proud to continue the tradition, and pleased that we were able to find a way to do it again this year.”
