A LOCAL Morris dancing group has welcomed a temporary new member for an end of season gathering.
Deputy Mayor Cllr Rosie Harvey Coggins was invited along to Wade Street Church by Three Spires Morris to find out more about the organisation and take part in a dance.
She said:
“It was a real pleasure to be invited. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and dedication that goes into Morris dancing – and I really enjoyed having a go myself.”
The group is now taking a short summer break and will resume practice on 4th September at Wade Street Church at 7.30pm.
Cllr Harvey-Coggins said:
“They are always on the lookout for new dancers and musicians. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to join in and have fun.”
