National companies sign up to boost Lichfield Scrap Barn initiative

A business which gives business waste a new lease of life as craft materials has been given a double boost.

The Lichfield Scrap Barn, based at Chasewater, has seen national chains Debenhams and WHSmith sign up to support the initiative.

The move means both companies will donate surplus stock and unwanted store visuals to the centre.

As well as supplying low cost arts and crafts materials, the Lichfield Scrap Barn also provide opportunities for young people with a disability to gain valuable work based experience, skills and training by being involved in a friendly working environment.

Lucy Wood, from Lichfield Scrap Barn, said: “To have such a well-respected business on our books by donating to us is fantastic.

“We are over the moon to announce such a great partnership.

“Debenhams and WHSmiths are not only supporting disabled people in the Workplace, but are actively reducing their Carbon Foot print.

“We are thrilled to be working with them on a long term basis.”
