The efforts of sailors during World War One will be commemorated later this month.
The National Memorial Arboretum will mark 100 years since the Battle of Jutland.
Around 250 ships took part in the 36-hour battle in the North Sea between May 31 and June 1 1916, claiming the lives of 6,000 Royal Navy and 2,500 German sailors.
A spokesperson for the Arboretum said: “We will be providing an opportunity to commemorate the sacrifices and contributions made by the Royal Navy, Merchant Navy, fishing fleets, shipbuilding towns and coastal communities who continue to guarantee our maritime nation’s security in both peace and war.”
A service will take place at the Naval Services Memorial at 10.50am on May 31.
