More new shops could be developed on Eastern Avenue in Lichfield if planners give the go-ahead to a new proposal.
An empty industrial unit is being earmarked for two new retail units.
Previously the Martin and Field site, the front of the building has now been removed and developers want to change the use from industrial to retail.
If it gets the go-ahead it will see even more stores added to Eastern Avenue, following the arrival of big names such as Wickes, Topps Tiles, Lidl, Halfords and Pets at Home in recent years.
In a statement supporting the application, the developer said: “The building frontage is to undergo improvement.
“Two new modern aluminium shopfronts are to be installed with a new front wall.
“This will give the impression of a ‘new build’ scheme and provide a similar modern facade as the recently built retail park.”
