A LICHFIELD nursery has been refused permission to build a cabin to allow it to increase the number of children it takes.
Footsteps Day Nurseries on Walsall Road had sought permission for the structure.
Had Lichfield District Council approved the scheme, it would have seen the occupancy of the nursery increase by 11 to 100 youngsters.
But a decision said the development was "inappropriate" in the green belt.
It added that the proposed layout would "fail to provide adequate off-road parking" to serve the development.
