Planners gave the go-ahead to the scheme where St Joseph’s RC Church once stood at the junction of High Street and New Street in Chasetown.

The church closed in 2002 after moving to a new location, but the buildings were not demolished until 2010.

Now the land looks set for a new lease of life with Cameron Homes intending to move their offices to the site from their current location on the High Street.

The developers added: “They are ‘outgrowing’ their current premises, the layout of which is unsuitable for their current needs.

“The proposed building would provide larger purpose built offices suitable for their current and future needs.

“Upon moving to these new premises Cameron Homes would look to convert their existing offices back to commercial premises with living accommodation over.”

Full details of the development can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
