Ten new bungalows could be built on land in Lichfield.

Developers hope to put two and three bedroom homes on the corner of Sainte Foy Avenue and The Whytmore.

Although the site on the southern edge of the Darwin Park estate has previously been designated as a ‘recreation zone’, a statement supporting the planning application say housing is the best option for it.

“The small size and position mean that it is not suitable for recreation purposes and alternative uses should be considered,” a spokesperson said.

“The application proposes ten bungalows which will help towards meeting the housing needs of the district in a location that is entirely suitable for residential development.”

Full details of the proposal can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
