Planners reject scheme to convert Lichfield farmhouse into funeral director’s office

Published:

Plans to transform a Lichfield farmhouse into an office for a funeral director have been rejected.

An application was submitted to Lichfield District Council for the property at Springhill Farm.

However, planning chiefs rejected the proposal claiming such a development would not be suitable for a residential area.

The office had been earmarked to support the planned Springhill Cemetery at Muckley Corner.

But in their decision notice, Lichfield District Council said: “The proposed change of use would introduce a town centre use to an isolated rural location.”

Full details of the proposals can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
