Plans for new Lichfield city centre development drawn up

Published:

Plans have been drawn up for a new development in Lichfield city centre.

Proposals have been submitted to Lichfield District Council for new shops, apartments and office space to be created alongside the City Point site currently being constructed on the corner of Sandford Street and Swan Road.

A statement supporting the planning application said: “The site lies within an area that is earmarked for future development that is planned to promote activity in the area, particularly the use of Friars Alley as an important pedestrian connection to the city centre.

“The recently approved hotel opposite the site will act as one of the principal catalysts in revitalising this important gateway into the city.”

Residents can have their say on the proposal via Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
