A Lichfield store has seen plans to put up two new signs rejected by city decision-makers.
TJ Hughes had wanted to place the two hoardings on the Birmingham Road side of the shop.
However, Lichfield District Council’s planning chiefs have rejected the proposals for the vinyl-covered foam signs, claiming they would not be suitable for the character of city.
A decision notice said:
“The signs, by virtue of their design, size, materials, method of attachment and position, detract from the character and appearance of the building on which they are displayed, the wider street scene and the character of Lichfield City Conservation Area.”
