Plans have been submitted for the construction of 500 new homes on land in Fradley.
Barratt West Midlands and Wilson Bowden Developments Ltd are also hoping to construct a new primary school and sports provision as part of the scheme off Hay End Lane.
The 500 properties will range from one to five bedrooms if the scheme is given the go ahead, with 100 of the new homes being designated as affordable housing.
A planning statement said:
“The design of the residential parcels have all been created to ensure they are surrounded by substantial areas of landscaping.
“This design approach would deliver significant amounts of green infrastructure and allow for the creation of further corridors of space within which the new residential community can be created.
“As part of this green infrastructure, a series walking and cycle routes would be linked together to provide a coherent and substantial pedestrian and cycle network.”

The development also has proposals for a cricket field, football pitch and pavilion adjacent to Hay End Lane.
“The masterplan also identifies that the new primary school would be located immediately adjacent to the sports provision.
“The intention behind this proximity to the proposed new sports pitches is to allow for dual use of the sports facilities by both the wider community but also children at the primary school.”
