PLANS to demolish a property in Hopwas to make way for two new homes have been withdrawn.

The proposal, at 39 Hints Road, would have seen four-bedroom houses built along with integral garages and parking.

But objections had been raised by Wigginton and Hopwas Parish Council, which said:

“The demolition of the flats and garages and construction of new dwellings are likely to change the look and the feel of the surrounding area. This application would also appear to be not in keeping with the Neighbourhood Plan.”

Lichfield District Council’s planning website has now confirmed that the application has been withdrawn.
