DETAILS of the latest Lichfield Science and Engineering Society talk have been confirmed.

The lecture, Too Much Information? Using Polymer Science to Tackle the Data Storage Crunch, will be given by Dr Matt Derry on February 6th.

A spokesperson said:

“We live in a digital age and the amount of data we generate, the cost and the power requirements of storing it are increasing at an astronomical rate.

“What happens if we run out of space for this data and what are the viable solutions? Could polymer science play a role in tackling this issue?

“This talk will explore how we could harness molecular interactions to enable next generation data storage solutions.”

The talk starts at 8pm. Admission is £8 on the door. Members and students go free.
