PEOPLE are being invited to get all aboard for an event supporting local good causes.
Chasewater Railway – itself a charity – will open its doors for other organisations on 3rd August for its annual charities day.
The event has run for a number of years and will feature stalls offering information about local branches of charities such as Macmillan and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, as well as smaller groups such as Purrs Cat Rescue.
Organiser Becky Weeks said:
“Chasewater Railway is run almost exclusively by volunteers of all ages, so being able to invite other volunteers to the railway to raise money and awareness of their own good causes always creates a special atmosphere.
“As well as stalls there will also be vehicles from fantastic groups such as Midland Freewheelers and Aldridge Transport Museum.”
The event is at Chasewater Railway’s Brownhills West Station from 10am to 4pm.
It will see the heritage trains running, while visitors can also explore the museum, bric-a-brac carriage and shops on site or enjoy hot food, cakes and drinks from The Sidings Tea Room.
