A Lichfield school is set to welcome a Royal visitor.
HRH Princess Beatrice of York will visit Maple Hayes Dyslexia School next week.
She will be given a tour of the facilities on Monday (April 27), as well as being shown the school’s approach to literacy teaching which uses icons to make a link between meaning and spelling patterns.
The 26-year-old princess – who was diagnosed with dyslexia when she was seven – will meet with some of the pupils before officially opening a newly-built room at the Abnalls Lane school.
Headmaster Dr Daryl Brown said: “We are proud to be able to show Princess Beatrice around our school and show her the important work we do.
“As she also has dyslexia we know the pupils will be able to relate to her and realise that despite having a learning difficulty they can succeed in life.”
