THE ribbon has been cut after a revamp of two play areas in Fradley.
The project to refurbish the facilities at Worthington Road and Barlow Drive was delivered in partnership by Lichfield District Council and Fradley Parish Council.
It has seen new inclusive play equipment added for children of all ages, including climbing frames, swings, slides, balance beams and a trampoline.
Some of the pieces have been designed to reflect Fradley's history as a World War Two airbase.
The works were funded by Section 106 developer contributions and an investment by the parish council.
Lichfield District Council cabinet member Cllr Alex Farrell said:
"These refurbished play areas are a fantastic investment in Fradley and provide children and families with modern, inclusive spaces where they can play, socialise and enjoy being outdoors.
"This project demonstrates what can be achieved through strong partnership working. By combining Section 106 funding with Fradley Parish Council's own investment, we've been able to deliver two high-quality play areas that will serve local families for many years to come."
Cllr David Leytham, chair of Fradley Parish Council, said:
"The play areas were in desperate need of refurbishment and everyone involved in the project has worked hard to deliver these fantastic new facilities for children to enjoy."
