A report has suggested changes to tackle “anti-social” parking in an area of Lichfield.
A number of issues were raised by the review, which was discussed by the Lichfield Joint Parking Board.
Among the areas of concern were problems with parking on Crossfield Road, Witley Drive and Trent Valley Road.
The report, by Staffordshire County Council’s highway liaison manager Richard Rayson, recognised there were issues with cars in the area.
“It is evident from observations that traffic is parking in and around junctions often in violation of the Highway Code,” he said. “Driveways are often partially obstructed.
“Vehicles were witnessed parking opposite each other on Trent Valley Road, often causing oncoming traffic to have to manoeuvre around these vehicles on the wrong side of the road. This was most prevalent between the Trent Valley service road and Trent Valley Island, along with many areas within Crossfield Road.
“Crossfield Road is an issue most days between 7am and 6pm, during business hours.”
A number of businesses on the nearby industrial estate had reported problems with access, the report added.
Mr Rayson’s report recommended introducing a no loading or unloading order on Crossfield Road, as well as the introduction of a limited time traffic regulation order on Trent Valley Road.
