The new Tesco superstore in Lichfield is set to create 200 more jobs in the area, according to reports.
The jobs come on top of those offered to original staff which were already due to be created, according to The Lichfield Mercury. The store, on Church Street is in the midst of a re-build after the original store was demolished back in February.
Tesco is offering the jobs as part of a Local Employment Partnership with Jobcentre Plus. The scheme is intended to help those out of work and the newly unemployed to find work. Many of the jobs are offered without the requirement of previous experience, meaning the positions are open to a wide range of people. There are some specialist roles available, however.
The supermarket chain is also working with South Staffordshire College to deliver training at their Lichfield campus. The two day pre-employment training course will help job seekers work on their applications and improve their interview techniques.
