New tours of the library at Lichfield Cathedral are launching in May.
Tucked away on the upper floor of the Chapter House, the library houses a unique collection of historic treasures.
The From Manuscript to the Printed Word tours will offer visitors an opportunity to see some of the cathedral’s earliest texts, including a 15th Century illuminated copy of Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, a Wycliffe Bible and a 16th Century printed Book of Hours.
Clare Townsend, the cathedral’s libraries’ manager, said: “It’s a great privilege for us to be able to share our wonderful collection and we hope to see many new faces when we re-open our doors in May.”
