The work of fire cadets in Lichfield is set to be celebrated at an event in the city.
The year nine students from the Friary School and Nether Stowe School have been taking part in activities around volunteering, firefighting, first aid and road safety over the last year.
They have also helped to raise more than £1,500 for Action Against Hunger and the Fire Fighters Charity.
And now the work of the fire cadets will be recognised at a celebration at Lichfield Fire Station tomorrow (April 11).
Cadets programme manager James Hettihewa-Young said: “This scheme was developed to help young people gain qualifications and experiences along with improving some of the soft skills needed for future employment.
“This event is an opportunity to celebrate their hard work and give their families an insight into the range of training they have been doing.”
The cadet firefighters will demonstrate some of the skills they have learnt before being presented with their certificates by the Mayor of Lichfield.
