FAMILIES are being reminded to take advantage of a range of free activities on offer for local youngsters during the summer holidays.

Lichfield District Council’s Active Lichfield Communities team has organised the Getin2it programme across Lichfield and Burntwood, which runs each weekday until 28th August.

Sessions include street dance, rounders, football, basketball, badminton, soft archery, cricket, tag rugby and wheelchair basketball.

There is also circuit training, kickboxing, yoga, athletics, table tennis and dodgeball on offer.

Cllr Andy Smith, Lichfield District Council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for leisure and major projects, said:

"Our Active Lichfield Communities team has organised a great schedule of activities for young people over the summer holidays.

"The sessions are taking place at venues across the district. They are fun, led by qualified coaches and there is no need to book – just come along and join in."

Full details of the programme, including dates, times and venues, are available on the Active Lichfield District website.
