AN American sports trading card business has teamed up with a local football club to expand its business.

Blue Breaks Sports Card and Hobby Shop currently operates two stores in the USA, but will now be venturing into the UK market when it opens at Lichfield City’s Trade Tyre Community Stadium.

The outlet will offer single cards, sealed boxes, sticker albums and more.

The venture will also see the creation of a new club shop where memorabilia, programmes, shirts and pin badges will be available.

Blue Breaks Card and Hobby Shop owner Jonathan Stone said:

“Our partnership with Lichfield City has taken off ever since we first collaborated three seasons ago.

“Lichfield have finished second and then first in the last two seasons, meanwhile Blue Breaks has opened its second and third stores.

“Our matching visions and success have aligned well and we look forward to bringing new collecting opportunities for the clubs fans and players, from it’s youngest youth team through to the senior first team.”

Darren Leaver, chairman of Lichfield City, said:

“It’s been great working alongside Jonathan and his team at Blue Breaks.

“Bringing a club shop to Lichfield City is a great step forward off the field, matching our achievements on it.

“We are looking forward to seeing the new shop and card store in action as we undertake our first season in the Northern Premier League.”

The new card store and club shop will initially be open on first team home matchdays from 1.30pm until an hour after the final whistle, starting on Saturday (9th August). Blue Breaks then hopes to open full time later in the season.
