Burntwood restaurant bidding to extend opening hours

Published:

A Burntwood restaurant is bidding to extend its opening hours to meet demand.

Anan’s, on Bridge Cross Road, is currently permitted to open until 11pm.

But now owner Mohammed Miah hope to extend this to 11.30pm Sunday to Thursday and 12.30am on Friday and Saturday nights.

In a statement supporting the application to Lichfield District Council, Mr Miah said: “The restaurant opened on December 22, 2014, and has become a thriving business in Burntwood.

“This variation [in opening times] has been much requested by our customers who enjoy dining till late, particularly on weekends.

“I also feel the need to vary these hours to match those of the same trade in Burntwood.

“There are at least five other restaurants that have these extended opening hours and we would like to be allowed the same opportunity. This will give us greater scope to maximise our business and thrive in Burntwood.”

People can have their say on the proposals via Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
