A campaign to improve air quality on local roads has been backed by Lichfield District Council.
Eight local authorities in Staffordshire have launched an ECO Stars scheme which encourages operators of HGVs, vans, buses and coaches to run their fleets more efficiently.
Each one is awarded a star rating and given recommendations to cut emissions and reduce operating costs.
Councillor Colin Greatorex, Cabinet Member for Housing & Health at Lichfield District Council, said: “We’re delighted to join the ECO Stars initiative and will be encouraging local fleet operators to take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference to their local environment and save money.”
