BURNTWOOD residents have marked Chinese New Year with a celebration in the town.
Performances, music and cultural traditions were on show as locals gathered for the event at Sankey’s Corner.
Among the highlights was a Lion Dance performance.
Cllr Darren Ennis, leader of Burntwood Town Council, said:
“It was fantastic to see so many people attending and embracing the celebration.
“The event reflected the strong community spirit of the town and demonstrated the value of bringing diverse cultural experiences into local public spaces.
“Special thanks to Cllr Leona Leung for her support and efforts in helping bring the celebration to Burntwood. Her work played an important role in making the event possible and ensuring it was enjoyed by the wider community.
“Thanks also to Lichfield District Council’s Labour opposition leader Cllr Sue Woodward for her support in helping secure funding.
“The success of the event highlights Burntwood’s continued commitment to inclusive community activities that bring people together and showcase different cultures in a welcoming and engaging way.”
