MORE than £6,300 has been handed over by the former Mayor and Sheriff of Lichfield.
The money was raised for Lichfield Arts and Pathway Project by Cllr Claire Pinder-Smith and Revd Ian Hayter during their year in office.
Cheques were presented to the two organisations at a ceremony at Lichfield City Council's offices.
Mark Jones from Lichfield Arts was joined by Selina Hughes and Natasha Brotheridge from Pathway Project to receive their cheques for £3,195.78 each.
The money was raised by a range of events, including a quiz night, ball and ceilidh dance.
A spokesperson said:
"The former Mayor and Sheriff would like to offer their sincere thanks to all the local businesses, groups and individuals who supported their fundraising activities and showed such wonderful generosity towards these two worthy causes."
