A councillor has been honoured for her long service and dedication to the community in Burntwood.
Cllr Sue Woodward – who is currently leader of Burntwood Town Council – had previously represented the Burntwood North division at Staffordshire County Council from 2013 until May this year.
She was one of four former elected members to be made Honorary Aldermen at a meeting of the county council today (14th October).
Cllr Alan White, leader of the county council, said:
“People sign up to become a county councillor because they want to make a difference to the communities they live in and make Staffordshire a better place for residents to live.
“All four have made a fantastic contribution to the county council and I would like to personally thank them for their individual and collective contributions over a number of years.”

The title of Honorary Alderman is given for long-service to the council and means they are eligible to represent Staffordshire at civic events.
