INTERNATIONAL visitors have been given a glimpse at how a partnership in Lichfield is helping to support communities in Africa.
Representatives of the Malawi Federation of Co-operatives (MAFECO) were guests of Central Co-op during their trip to the city.
After taking in the sights around Lichfield, the delegation visited the retailer’s support centre where they met colleagues who launched the Our Malawi Partnership in 2022.
They also toured the Central Co-op’s Boley Park store to see products launched as part of the initiative, including Kilombero rice and the UK’s first Fairtrade macadamia nut products.
The trip also featured a visit to Streethay Primary School where they answered questions from pupils who had helped to raise enough money to fund a student’s secondary school education in Malawi for a year.
