PEOPLE are being asked to donate items ahead of the return of a scheme helping families with the cost of school uniforms.

Lichfield City Council will host the Back to School Uniform Bank event from 2pm to 4pm on 29th August at the Guildhall.

A spokesperson said:

“This community-focused event offers free school uniform to families preparing for the new academic year.

“Simply bring along your bag for life and pick up the items you need.

“In addition to uniform collection, we’ll also be offering face painting and refreshments to make the afternoon enjoyable for all.

“To help make this a success, we are seeking donations of pre-loved, clean school uniforms and school stationery to help support local families.”

Donation stations are available at the Lichfield City Council offices in Donegal House on Bore Street and the city’s Tesco Extra store.
