A Lichfield legal firm is holding a wills surgery.
Bradin Trubshaw & Kirwan Solicitors will give residents information about areas such as making a will or confirming that existing ones are legally binding at the event on Saturday (June 23).
They will also offer advice for those who are seeking to contest the details of a will made by another person.
Lee Trubshaw, partner of Bradin Trubshaw & Kirwan Solicitors, believes too many people postpone will writing without understanding the pitfalls of leaving the future of their estate unresolved.
“Very often people sweep the concept of making a will under the carpet, as it simply isn’t something they expect to be of relevance in the near future,” he explained. “For many it is seen as a document that only needs addressing in later life or when faced with serious illness. This isn’t the case and we cannot emphasise enough how important it is to prepare a will as soon as possible.
“We hope a free legal surgery will be enough to get people thinking beyond the “here and now” and encourage them to consider where, or to whom, they would want their estate to go.”
