MORE than 2,000 drivers have been caught speeding on a road in Lichfield, new data has revealed.
Figures have been collated showcasing hotspots where drivers have been caught travelling above the limit by Staffordshire Police in the 12 months to April 2025.
The top five spots on the table compiled by Legal Expert are all on the M6 – but the sixth place is the northbound stretch of the A38 where 2,080 speeding offences were recorded over the year.
Meanwhile, the southbound stretch of the same road saw just 911 drivers caught, placing it 12th on the overall list.
The A38 through Streethay currently has speed restrictions in place due to roadworks taking place as part of the HS2 project.
Meanwhile the figures have also revealed that in the year ending April 2025, a total of 54,375 fixed penalty notices were issued across Staffordshire.
