A VILLAGE market could be at risk due to dwindling footfall.

The event in Whittington takes place on the third Saturday of the month between April and November.

But falling numbers of shoppers mean attracting stallholders has become difficult.

Some independent stalls could be in place on Saturday (16th August), but organisers say there will be no formal market going forward while a review is carried out.
