The headteacher of Lichfield Cathedral School has hailed “excellent results” for her students.
The school saw 83% of sixth form pupils score A* to C grades – up 26% on last year.
There were also a number of individual successes, including Darcie Thomas who achieved A*, A, A and B grades to secure a place studying mathematics at Lancaster, while Noah Jefferies got three A grades and secured an apprenticeship with Bristol-based accountancy firm Haines Watts.
Elsewhere, all performin arts students gained A* or A grades.
Headteacher Susan Hannam said: “These excellent results reflect the hard work and positive attitudes of our students and the skill, professionalism and dedication of our wonderful teachers.
“As a non-selective school, students come to us with a wide range of academic ability – it is a testament to our high quality teaching and supportive environment that so many students achieved or exceeded their predicted grades.
“They should feel very proud of their accomplishment – we certainly are.”
Deputy Head Andrew Harrison added: “We are delighted that all those continuing onto university have achieved a place in their course of choice, but we are most proud of the fact that our students leave us as well-rounded, confident and self-reliant young leaders, equipped with the right skills to succeed in life, whatever their chosen pathway.”
