A LOCAL organisation has been given a helping hand with its community and volunteer work thanks to the donation of a new laptop.
The computer was given to Grace Cares by Techcare.
The new equipment will help the organisation manage volunteer coordination, community outreach and the running of programmes that support unpaid caregivers and older people in the local area.
Hannah Montgomery, co-founder of Grace Cares, said: "Techcare didn't just donate a laptop, they invested in the work we do every single day."
Grace Cares rescues, refurbishes and redistributes pre-loved care equipment, selling it on at half the original price or less, with proceeds funding free community programmes including the Care Club, tea parties, hardship grants and the Caring for Tomorrow webinar series.
The organisation has already helped over 5,000 people and is working towards a goal of reaching 10,000 by the end of 2028.
Tim Hepworth, head of operations at Techcare, said:
"Everyone relies on health and social care at some point in their life, whether for themselves or someone close to them, which is one of the reasons supporting Grace Cares was important to us.
"Our director Sam has a genuine background and passion for care, so the work the Grace Cares team are doing really resonates with us.
"They provide an incredibly valuable service, and we are pleased that the laptop will help make their day-to-day work that little bit easier."
