The leader of Burntwood Town Council has stepped down from her role.
Cllr Norma Bacon only took up the post in June but has now resigned as leader of the controlling Conservative group for “personal reasons”.
Her appointment as leader came just weeks after she was controversially voted onto the council by members after Labour claimed an agreement had been made for one of their representatives to be co-opted instead.
She then outlined plans for a gallery of images of civic leaders to be installed – a move which was eventually rejected by her colleagues.
Cllr Heather Tranter, Burntwood Town Council’s deputy leader, will lead the authority until a permanent replacement is appointed.
