A series of projects in Lichfield and Burntwood have been boosted by lottery funding.
Almost £50,000 has been handed over to the schemes by the National Lottery’s Community Fund.
They are part of 309 Midlands community projects who will share £7.2million.
The five projects are:
- Refurbishment of Shenstone Village Hall’s kitchen – £10,000
- Purchase of a new car for Burntwood and Cannock Chase Community First Responders – £10,000
- The creation of a Happiness Hub in Lichfield to help people who are isolated, suffering with mental health issues or are economically disadvantaged – £10,000
- Kitchen refurbishment at Wall Village Hall – £10,000
- IT workshops for older people at Mavesyn Ridware Village Hall – £9,960
Matt Poole, senior head of regional funding for the Midlands at The National Lottery Community Fund, said: “National Lottery money continues to change the lives of thousands of people across the West Midlands.
“From community-led projects that reduce loneliness and isolation to those looking at ways of tackling bullying amongst young people, this quarter’s funding has one thing in common – it’s all been awarded to groups with the ideas, knowledge and passion to make the changes they want to see in their local area.”
