The Christian Aid Action Group will host the hour long vigil at Speakers’ Corner in the city centre at 11am on December 16.

A spokesperson said: “Periods of silence will be punctuated with prayers, readings and song and members of the public will be given Christmas cards from Christian Aid to take home.

“Everyone is welcome to come along and join-in this act of solidarity with the poor of the world.”
