Lichfield City Sharks travelled to Norton in an exciting season opener.
The Sharks started slowly and gave themselves a mountain to climb as Norton walked into a two goal lead within 12 minutes of kick off.
Far from killing the game the second goal proved to be the catalyst for a Sharks revival and they came alive taking the game to Norton quickly reducing their two goal advantage to one.
After some good pressure Liam Kelly fired home from close range in the 14th minute to beat the sprawling Norton keeper who had played magnificently to keep his team in the lead.
The second half saw wave after wave of Shark attacks with Nathan Ray producing some fine runs down the right wing before delivering teasing cross after teasing cross. However a combination of superb goalkeeping, resolute defending and the woodwork kept the score at 2-1 to Norton.
Horton, Ray, Hurcombe, Young and Taylor all came close to the equaliser as Norton had to resort to playing four at the back just to try and block the barrage of attacks on their goal.
With time ticking away the equaliser finally came in the 35th minute as Josh Taylor was first to react to the ball bobbling loose in the area and he fired into the roof of the net to draw the game level at 2-2 which was no more than the lads deserved.
Man of the match went to Nathan Ray for some fine footwork and delivery.
