The Sharks, sporting their new home kit, faced Norton for the second time in seven days and were keen to make amends for their slow start in the reverse of this fixture.

Those fears were put to bed in just the third minute when Nathan Ray showed the Norton defence a clean pair of heels, thanks to some smart footwork and a cool finish to put the Sharks 1-0 up.

However, the goal did little to cure the Lichfield hangover and despite some good possession they once again found the Norton keeper in fine form.

It was in fact the second half before the Sharks were able to make their dominance pay and a quickfire treble within the space of three minutes really put the game to bed.

In the 29th minute Nathan Ray got his second with another fine finish before bagging his hat-trick in the 30th minute with a long range shot that beat the sprawling Norton keeper with the help of a deflection.

The treble was completed in the 31st minute when Jimmy Horton opened his account for the season with a smart finish to effectively put the game of of Norton’s reach at 4-0.

The impressive Matt James was rarely troubled in the Sharks goal but when called in to action made some excellent saves, the pick of the bunch a brave dive at the feet of the on rushing Norton striker to pluck the ball out of danger.

At the other end, the Sharks continued to threaten with Young, Henstock and Taylor all coming close before Jimmy Horton was alert enough to get off a snap shot in the 40th minute that the Norton keeper was helpless to stop going in, despite getting good contact on the ball. That strike made it 5-0 and confirmed a well deserved victory for the Sharks.

Man of the match went to Nathan Ray for the second week running for an impressive hat-trick and high energy performance.

Sharks would like to thank The Best Of Lichfield and Fleet Evolution for their continued support.
