The Aspects events building will allow the UK’s remembrance centre to host a range of events on the site, including conferences and banqueting.

The site has recently been handed over by primary contractor Stepnell for outfitting and to celebrate the milestone, the arboretum has announced a competition giving people the chance to win a meeting for 12 people in the executive Alder room, worth more than £500. The prize will also include food and drink throughout the day and a complimentary guided walk to explore the stories behind some of the memorials.

Sarah Oakden, head of marketing at the National Memorial Arboretum, said: “The opening of Aspects next month is another landmark moment for the arboretum, providing a contemporary events space in a stunning and inspirational location.

“The lucky winners of our competition will benefit from executive conference facilities in the Alder room, which is named after one of the tree species found at the arboretum, a naming convention which applies to all of the meeting spaces.

“This experience will make even a routine meeting a special occasion.”
