New bid to build homes on Burntwood pub site

Published:

A new plan to build 22 homes on the site of a former pub in Burntwood have been been drawn up.

A number of previous schemes on land where The Greyhound once stood have either been withdrawn or rejected.

The most recent saw five detached houses rejected because of the “cramped” nature of the project.

However, the new scheme is hoping to see:

  • four two bed homes
  • eight three bed homes
  • four one bed apartments
  • six two bed apartments

A statement supporting this latest application said: “The redevelopment of this site offers an opportunity to create an attractive residential development.

“There is an established and identified need in this area for good quality, modern family housing and therefore the scheme would be supplying need to the town.”

Full details of the proposal can be seen on the Lichfield District Council planning website.
