A brand new Lichfield dance academy is toe-tapping and disco-dancing its way to helping local people and organisations after deciding to donate 20p of every pound taken in its first month to the We Love Lichfield Fund.
Flux Academy is different from a classical dance school. All types of dance are accommodated, with students are encouraged to explore non-classical styles and you don’t have to sit examinations as its more based around performance opportunities and experiences.

Opening on Monday (September 17), Flux is based at the Netherstowe Dance Studio every Monday and Thursday night where five lessons cost from £16.
The new school’s director is well known local choreographer and dance teacher Jessica Lambert. She taught at the famous Italia Conti Stage School for its younger children and has helped create productions for the Garrick Youth Theatre including Footloose and Fame. She said: “I’m very excited to be opening a new business in Lichfield and delighted that I can contribute to my home town. I am passionate about the area and its people.
“I also wanted to run a business that gives something back to my community. I chose The We Love Lichfield Fund because you know that all the money raised goes to the District.”
The Flux Academy is donating 20p in every pound from all its lessons during the first month of trading to the We Love Lichfield Fund.

Simon Price, Patron of the We Love Lichfield Fund said: “I’m delighted that another local business has come forward and is contributing to its local people and I would like to thank Jessica for thinking of the We Love Lichfield Fund. I think it’s great that a new company, and we all know it’s very tough to be in business at the moment, is helping the community in which it is based so that everyone is a winner.”
