A CHARITY running event in Lichfield is hoping to take its fundraising total past £100,000 when it returns to the city.
One More Lap is a 12-hour team challenge which will take place at Stowe Pool on 20th September.
Now in its third year, the event sees groups of four to six runners complete relay laps.
Unlike many running events, One More Lap has no upfront entry fee. Instead, each participant pledges to raise at least £100 – and the fundraising achievements show teams regularly go well beyond that target.
Over its first two years, 260 people have helped raise more than £58,000 for Kids' Village – the UK's first respite holiday village for children with critical illnesses – including over £38,000 in 2025 alone.
Katrina Cooke, CEO of Kids' Village, said:

"Every lap completed, and every penny raised, helps create something of genuine value for the families we support – respite, memories and precious time together.
"To be on the verge of £100,000 raised through this event is genuinely overwhelming. We’re so grateful to every runner, walker and team who has helped make it possible."
Ian Covey, event director at One More Lap, said:
"We only need to beat last year's total by a few thousand pounds – and honestly, I think our runners are going to smash it without breaking a sweat. Well, maybe a small sweat. It is an ultramarathon, after all."
