Burntwood could get a new dog grooming salon if plans are approved.

Scruffs to Fluffs has applied to Lichfield District Council for permission to convert a former embroidery and equestrian goods shop on Bridge Cross Road.

Owner Dawn Malin said: “I have been a professional dog groomer for the last six years and due to continued growth in clients I now need to work from a suitable retail unit.”

If the scheme gets the green light it will see the business operate from Monday to Saturday.

Dawn added: “Sankey’s Corner has a varied amount of retail and business premises, and with the addition of the new housing estate currently being built, it looks to have a great future.

“The salon will have a central location to serve the community of dog owners.

“This is a long term investment for my business and I feel that it will be a good addition to the area.”

Full details of the proposal can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
