Plans to transform an empty Lichfield shop into a fish and chip shop have been given the go-aead – despite opposition from local residents.
An application to transform the site at 44 Wheel Lane was approved by Lichfield District Council.
The shop has been empty since a computer store closed in 2013.
However, there had been opposition from local residents with one writing that a seating area in the shop would “encourage loitering”.
He added: “This application remains an anti-social proposition which demonstrates a continued blatant disregard for the local residents.”
But the plans will now become a reality after the scheme was given the green light.
Full details of the proposed changes can be seen on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
