SIXTH Form students at a Lichfield Cathedral School have celebrated an "exceptional" set of A-Level results.
Overall, 53% of grades were at A* or A, while 98% were between A* and C.
The school will now see many of its students head to university or degree apprenticeships across the country in areas such as law, business, psychology, biomedical sciences, criminology, philosophy, history and maths.
Headteacher Sue Hannam said:
"We are absolutely delighted with this year's A-Level results and are immensely proud of every student.
"These outcomes are the culmination of years of hard work, dedication and perseverance, and they reflect the ambition and resilience our students have demonstrated throughout their time at with us.
"As a non-selective school, students start Sixth Form with a wide variety of GCSE results, yet they have far exceeded all predictions. The difference Lichfield Cathedral School has made to their education demonstrates why we are consistently placed in the top 10% of schools nationally for value-added.
"We are equally grateful to our talented and committed staff, whose expertise, encouragement, and care help our young people realise their potential, and to our parents and families whose unwavering support plays such an important role in every student's journey.
"While academic success is certainly to be celebrated, we believe that successful outcomes are about much more than examination grades. Among the top performers were:
- Theo Dixon - A*A*A* plus an A* in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and will now begin a degree apprenticeship with Airbus in engineering
- Jess Wharton – A*A*A* plus an A in the EPQ has seen her accept an offer to study maths at Durham University
- Isla Brennan – A*A*A plus an A* in the EPQ will study History at Durham University.
- Zephan Rowe – A*A*B will study philosophy at Edinburgh University
- Danai Karaiosifidi – A*AA plus an A* in the EPQ will study international human rights law at York University
- Abigail Young – A*AA plus an A* in the EPQ will study Psychology at Leeds
Other successes saw Jessica Murphy achieve an A in Spanish a year earlier than usual. She will continue with her Sixth Form studies in September.
