A Burntwood school had been targeted by burglars for the third time in less than a month.
The latest raid on Chasetown Community School on Church Street – which caters for pupils with special educational needs – was discovered by a caretaker at 3am this morning (November 2).
Forensics officers are still at the scene but it is believed a number of laptops and tablet computers have been taken. The school has also been forced close for the day.
Two similar incidents took place on October 12 and 22.
Local Policing Team Commander, Insp Rob Neeson, said: “We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may be able to help us with these burglaries.
“As a consequence of the actions of these offenders, the pupils at the school have had to miss out on a day’s schooling. This is particularly distressing for them as they have special educational needs.
“The fact the school has been subject to three burglaries in quick succession is callous and cynical.
“I would urge anyone who has any information about these incidents to contact us as soon as possible on 101 quoting incident 37 of 2 November.”
