AN extension to the approval of plans to build nine new homes on land in Wigginton has been approved by Lichfield District Council.
The development has been proposed for the plot at Silver Birches on Syerscote Lane.
But despite permission originally being granted in October 2022, no developer has yet been found.
A planning statement said:
“Silver Birches was originally built in the 1970s as an agricultural workers’ dwelling
associated with nearby Arkall Farm.
“The site is currently accessed via a private driveway off Syerscote Lane. Surrounding
land uses include a pair of cottages to the north, a railway line to the west and
agricultural land with outline planning permission for an urban expansion to the south
and east.
“The outline planning permission granted in October 2022 requires that reserved
matters be submitted within three years of the date of approval. To date, a developer
has not been found, and the applicant wishes to renew the permission so that the site
can be marketed effectively.”
Full details can be found on Lichfield District Council’s planning website.
